The Opinions on Strengthening Legal Education and Legal Theoretical Research in the New Era issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council in 2023, clearly put forward that, we must adhere to XiJinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era as the guide, conduct in-depth study and implementation on XiJinping’s thought of ruling by law, improve the quality of legal personnel training, and promote the high-quality development of legal education. In order to actively implement the opinions and give full play to the role of our off-campus law practice teaching base, our college organized a number of undergraduate students from the Law school to carry out a one-month professional internship in the summer of 2023. The aim is to strengthen legal practice teaching, deepen collaborative education, and promote the deep connection between our college and judicial departments.
After docking with Bengbu Intermediate People's Court, Bangshan District People's Court, Bangshan District People's Procuratorate, Longzihu District People's Court and other judicial departments, 28 students such as Shao Jiping and Ding Jian went to 4 practice bases to carry out professional practice on July 10.
Before the start of the professional practice, Vice President Gao Yi focused on all the participating students and stressed the points for attention in the professional practice, requiring students to correct their attitude, study hard and abide by the discipline. Courts, procuratorates and other judicial departments have conducted corresponding pre-job training for students, assigned corresponding departments to students and arranged specific off-campus practice instructors to provide students with a good internship environment and internship platform.
After the one-month internship, the students gained a lot. Through the internship, they understood the judicial practice, combined the professional knowledge of law with the judicial practice, learned a lot of knowledge that could not be learned in books, and expressed their gratitude to the internship unit. The internship is an important way to improve the quality of our talents cultivation of law, is our legal education and an important part of the mutual fusion, the rule of law practice provides further protection for our high quality development.
