Ⅰ.Training objects and objectives

ⅰ.Training objects

The applicant should be a former graduate or equivalent who has passed the National Unified Entrance Examination for Professional Postgraduates of Master of Law and has a bachelor's degree in law major in the sequence of national education and is admitted by our university in the second interview selection.

ⅱ.Training Objectives

This professional degree aims at cultivating high-level specialized and applied legal talents with both integrity and ability in the field of legislation, judicial administration, law enforcement and legal services.Specific requirements are:

1.Mastering the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, abiding by the Constitution and laws, being both virtuous and disciplined, having good political quality and moral character, following the legal professional ethics and legal professional ethics norms.

2.Comprehensively mastering the basic principles of law, especially the basic principles of socialist law, having the legal knowledge, legal terms, legal thinking, legal methods and legal skills required for the legal profession.

3.Consciously practicing the core socialist values, comprehensively using legal and other professional knowledge, and having the ability to independently engage in legal work.

4.Having a good command of a foreign language.

Ⅱ.Length of Study and Schedule

The length of schooling is two years. Those who fail to complete the credits and dissertation within the prescribed time can apply for extension of the study period, and the cumulative extension of the study period is generally not more than two years. The training program of part-time master of law shall be implemented in accordance with the training program of non-professional master of law.

The first two semesters are the time for course study, and the third and fourth semesters are the time for  teaching practice ,social investigation and research , paper writing and defence.

Ⅲ.Credit Requirements and Course Settings

ⅰ.Credit Requirements

The total credits shall be no less than 59 credits, including 39 credits of course teaching, 15 credits of practical teaching and 5 credits of dissertation.

ⅱ.Course Settings (39 credits)

The curriculum is mainly set according to the first-level disciplines of law, and the structure of the curriculum is divided into compulsory courses and elective courses.

1. Compulsory Courses (18 credits)

(1)Research on Theory and Practice of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (2 credits)

(2)Legal English (3 credits)

(3)Professional Ethics in Law (2 credits)

(4)Principles and Practice of Civil and Civil Procedure Law (4 credits in 2 semesters)

(5)Principles and Practice of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law (4 credits, divided into 2 semesters)

(6)Principles and Practice of Administrative Law and Administrative Procedural Law (3 credits)

2.Elective Courses (16 credits from the following courses)

(1)Topics in Jurisprudence (2 units)

(2)Topics in Chinese Legal History (2 credits)

(3)Topics in Constitutional Law (2 credits)

(4)Topics in Commercial Law (2 units)

(5)Topics in Economic Law (2 credits)

(6)Topics in International Law (2 units)

(7)Topics in Intellectual Property Law (2 credits)

ⅲ.Practical Teaching and Training (15 credits)

1.Legal Writing (2 credits)

2.Law Retrieval (2 credits)

3.Mock court, simulated arbitration, simulated mediation, etc. (three types of optional criminal civil administration, three types of optional judge, prosecutor and lawyer, organized by teachers, assisted by judge and prosecutor lawyers)(3 credits)

4.Legal Negotiation (2 credits)

The above practical training can be carried out by means of case study, legal clinic and so on

5.Professional Internship (6 credits)

At least 6 months of internship in courts, procuratorates, law firms, legal aid agencies, notary offices and other judicial practical units or legal work departments of government legal departments

ⅳ.Dissertation (5 credits)

The principle of integrating theory with practice should be adhered to in thesis topic selection. The paper content should focus on the practical problems and Orient towards legal affairs, reflecting the students' ability to use the theories and knowledge they have learned to solve theoretical and practical problems in legal practice. The supervisor group should decide which supervisor is responsible for the guidance of the thesis according to the direction of the student's topic selection.

The main content of the dissertation should be legal practice research, and the forms of case analysis, research report and special investigation should be advocated.

The number of words in the dissertation should not be less than 20,000 words. Please refer to the Dissertation Specification for Professional Master of Law of Anhui University of Finance and Economics for specific requirements and procedures.

Ⅳ.Cultivation Mode and Methods

ⅰ.Adopting full-time learning mode, the teaching method mainly combines knowledge education with values education and ability education, and integrates ideological guidance and values shaping into each course teaching.

ⅱ.Paying attention to and strengthening practical teaching, emphasizing the training of the practical ability of combining theory with practice.

ⅲ.A tutor group shall be established, which shall be guided by a combination of collective training and individual responsibility. The tutor group shall include personnel with senior professional and technical positions in the legal practice department.

ⅳ.Strengthening the connection and exchange between teaching and practice, inviting experts with legal practice experience to participate in the teaching and training work.

ⅴ.The examination of compulsory courses is divided into two forms: examination and inspection.

Ⅴ.Thesis Defense and Degree Awarding

Dissertation must be evaluated by three experts with senior professional and technical positions in the field, at least one of whom is an expert in the legal work department;Among the members of the dissertation defense committee, one or two experts from the department of legal work should complete the course study and practice, obtain the required credits, and pass the dissertation defense. After the examination and approval of the Academic Degree Assessment Committee of the University, they shall be awarded the professional degree of master of law and the graduate certificate.

Ⅵ.Supplementary Provisions

1.This program is applicable to full-time graduate students majoring in law master's degree.

2.This program will be implemented from 2017 graduate students.
