On June 1st, the final of the 4th Nanzhong Zijin Cup simulated Arbitration Tribunal competition sponsored by The Justice Department of Jiangsu Province, Nanjing Arbitration Commission and Jiangsu University Legal Aid Union came to a close in the simulated court of Nanjing Audit University. The purpose of the contest is to create a new normal in which college law students learn to practical needs and promote the mutual development of legal theory teaching and arbitration practice, better publicizing arbitration rules and popularizing arbitration law.
A total of 28 universities, 84 teams and 252 students from jiangsu province participated in the competition. In the preliminary contest, the three representative teams of our school entered the semi-finals with their solid professional quality and promptness. In the end, the applicant team and the respondent team broke through from the semi-final and entered the final.
In the final , the judges were composed of national trial experts from Jiangsu Provincial High Court, well-known lawyers from Jiangsu Province, arbitrators from Nanjing Arbitration Commission, professors from law schools in universities, etc. Teams engaged in factual and legal arguments over a dispute concerning a capital increase agreement. The students in our school sticked to the bone of contention , presented evidence and stated their views. The two finalist teams of our school have won the final championship trophy one after another by virtue of their superb court debate and solid professional knowledge.
This competition is the second time for our school to participate in this competition. Under the guidance of Huang Baoxuan and Gao Yi, both of whom are teachers of our school , the applicant team composed of students from our school, such as Ji Ruihua, Zhang Tao and Di Jinyu, has won the championship of this group. Zhu Ting, Chen Yan and Hu Xinru won the champion of the respondent group. Yu Yongyue, Li Sijie and Liu Ye won the second runner-up of the Arbitration Panel. In addition, our school also won the Best Organization Award and the Excellent Arbitration Legal document Award, and Huang Baoxuan was awarded the Excellent Advisor. Once again, our school won the most numerous and most important prizes among the 28 participating universities, including Nanjing University, Soochow University and Nanjing Normal University.
In this competition, the representatives of our school demonstrated their good demeanor and excellent team spirit, which showed their level and talent, and won high recognition and wide praise from the judges and other school teams. In the past two years, with the attention of school and university leaders, our team has made great achievements in various moot court and debate competitions. Through the mode of competition instead of exercise, competition instead of training, we combine the theory of law with practice, constantly strengthen the practical teaching, cultivate high-quality legal professionals, and enhance the influence of our law school in the same kind of institutes .
